Texas Education Agency
The Texas Education Agency no longer maintains a "List of Interested Citizens"
to whom are mailed notices of board meetings, textbook committee hearings, public participation
rules, testimony transcripts, etc. Instead, citizens must now obtain all information from the
websites. Since Internet access is today widely available, including free access in public
libraries, this is not an obstacle to public participation, only perhaps an inconvenience.
Citizens will now have to print their own copies of documents, thereby saving the state (and
taxpayers) a considerable expense.
